For anyone who, like me, does a lot of repetitive mousing as part of their job (or extremely systematic porn trawling) and suffers RSI type achy pains as a result, do yourself a favour and install AutoHotKey. It's a tiny, piss easy to use and very convenient macro programme that can do repetitive tasks for you whilst you scratch your armpit/make the tea/beat off into a chamois leather full of tabasco.¹

1 - Yes, I know it's a good line, that's why I stole it from a guy who used to do stand up slots at Up The Creek in Deptford³. I've just realised that this was almost certainly Michael Smiley.

2 - It might also help to retrieve my bike from the basement of a well known West End pub and beat the spack-tacular deraillieur back into shape (it's decided that it doesn't like the only gear I actually use).

My N95 is acting up. I keep getting a message that says 'Not enough memory to perform this operation. Delete some data from phone memory first'.

AFAIK I have deleted all the phone memory (sms in and outboxes, the few pics that I took before I got the memory card) but this has not fixed it. Either it's fucked or there's something mysterious taking up a huge chunk of the phone memory. I can't even find a memory meter for the phone mem, although the memory card one shows a good 1000mb free so it can't be giging me grief over that.

Does anyone have any suggestions/knowledge of what I can do to fix this?

Our ravening, foam-flecked Home Secretary Jacqui Vissarionovich Smith* today announced that the state now sanctions police harassment. Apparently the way to make people behave like productive members of society is to treat them like criminals, even when they've doen nothing wrong. Of course, this is mainly aimed at 'young people' (aka those little shits that don't qualify to vote yet so why should we give a fuck what they think), so probably no-one will give a shite. Remember when ASBOs came out? They were for 'youths' too. Can you say 'function creep', little man?

In related news, Phil tells me that Lewes police are now issuing 'prophylactic' ASBOs to young 'offenders' who are known to them for any reason. His next door neighbour's daughter, who had a couple of run ins with the police aged 13 or so (but no convictions) and has since kept her nose clean (got into college, training to be a hairdresser yadda yadda) has just been issued, at the age of 17, with an ASBO banning her from associating with more than one person of her own age in the streets of Lewes.

I need to get 500 flyers, which are being delivered to my office today at 4, to an address in Amhurst Road by this evening. I'd take them myself but I can't due to gig commitments. Is there anyone here who lives in Stokey and works either centrally, in the Vauxhall/Lambeth area or near Chancery Lane who would be up for meeting me for a pint (obviously I'm buying) after work and then dropping them off for me on their way home? I could spend £25 getting them couriered, but I'd rather buy you a pint...

Just got an email from my friend Phil who has been doing this for the past three months (that's him in the top picture, the one that isn't an eight year old Indian kid). Looking further down the page at the pics of old Manali has proper given me the wanderlust. Not a good day to work in an office but hey, at least the duplexer on the Kyocera printer sounds like a wood pigeon. If I close my eyes I can imagine an idyllic woodland scene, albeit one which smells of toner.

What seems to have dropped out of this story is that the SA government, at least initially, refused to intervene in the arms shipment, saying that it was above board and legal and they had no powers. This is technically true but is also symptomatic of Thabo Mbeki's consistent yellow-bellied capitulation to 'Comrade Bob'. What happened on the ship's arrival was that the South African General Workers' Union refused to unload the ship or to transport any goods unloaded from it. I don't know whether the story has changed because the SA government buckled to internal pressure or just because the story changed to make Mbeki look like less of an ineffectual pansy, but it seems other neighbouring countries who could have given transit to the arms shipment were less equivocal about the matter, and the ship is now on its way back to China without having unloaded any munitions on African shores.

Sometimes I quite like humans.
